I just got my issue on Friday- it looks like it really improved, some of the articles even run almost 3 pages

They use to be one of my favorite but then they fell off. I also use to advertise with them till they double the price of my ad,then I had to go some where else. I have not seen this copy but I will take a look at it.

Bassquest is a similar format, I imagine the competition forced their hand.

I just cancelled my subscription a few days ago because their articles were so generic.

When you're on bottom, there's only one direction you can go.

Not really. I think its a pretty cheesy read with outdated pictures and too many hyped up articles with little substance or education value. Usually they are pushing some form of YUM products on 6 out of the 20 pages. Sometimes full page ads for baits that have been discontinued and are usually cheaper at tackle shops than in magazine.
Hate to be so blunt but the magazine gets worse and worse.

Hey Great! Glad you thought it was improved. I promised everyone last year each issue would get better. I try my hardest to stick to that! Smaller font equals less pages of stories. I could use larger font like some other magazines and stretch them out and even continue them way in the back, but thats not my practice. Who wants to flip to several pages to finish reading the story? Did you check out the AWESOME Angry Smallmouth story, by P.J. PAHYGIANNIS? That story is small font and 4 pages! Great read! And thank you again for the compliment! If anyone has questions, concernes, complaints or hi fives, I can be reached at brad.uhl@freshwatermediagroup.com

Marc,

Back in the day I was a peon, I remember I was your salesman. Well, I am the publisher now. The ways of the old are long gone. The magazine is back out, and was #1 Selling Magazine in Walmart for the summer issue. Many changes have come along in 2012, and each issue improves. we are now back to 6 times a year, not 4. I would like to run your guide ad again in the magazine. Send me an email at brad.uhl@freshwatermediagroup.com and we can discuss. I am restarting the guide section of the magazine and have some great rates. Thank you sir.

BassQuest is nice, and I give congrats on the launch. I read the issue, they have great writers and staff. The competition did not force what is at hand. New ownership from an angler like yourself did it. See this thread.

Yes it was about Crappie World, but it is about AMERICAN ANGLER PUBLISHING as a whole.

I ask you to pick up a new issue and give it a try! You might like it compared over the old!

Thanks!

BRAD
