I know they have been discussed before but I just ordered my first Ming Yang Cl60 (also known as Shakespere/pro angler). for the price I thought I might as well give it a shot. When it gets delivered I'll put it on a twelve foot ugly stick and repeatedly sling a four oz weight with it to see if I can break it (I have distroyed a 6000 that way). If it holds up I'll keep it and put it up against some big kitties.

I've got 6 of the cl60a's. I've not busted one yet.

cool. can't wait to give it a shot. I am currently in love with my shimano triton 200g's, but the price on them has gone up. plus I have four of them.

Sounds like a good reel

I have 2 cl60s I bought for 20 a piece a few years ago. Not a bad reel! They don't cast as far as the abus and the drag is not as strong, but have caught several cats over 20 with no issues. They seem to have a break-in period where they cast better the more you use them. I like using them on my yak because I won't have a meltdown if I lose one!

read on a striper forum you can use the abu carbon matrix drag washers to upgrade the drag. wonder what else you could swap out when and if the reel goes south.

The 60cla is different than the 60cl...but the a version is nowhere to be found unless you want pink.
