We fished below the Canyon Lake dam which is where they stock them every Friday until the end of the month. The ones they stock there are the typical 6 - 10 inchers. That's pretty much all we caught but one guy did catch a beautiful 16" trout. The "normal" ones were biting very well but the place WAS crowded. Irritatingly so on Sunday. You could barely squeeze in to fish and then you had to constantly worry about getting hung up on someone else's line.

My understanding, though, is that they do stock the big ones at certain places along the Guadalupe that pay for them to be stocked there. Also, the Frio gets stocked with bigger ones. Not sure how the crowds are in those places as I only experienced the area by the dam.

Fished Waterloo in Denison this morning. Trout were active. Caught four Trout, fell in the water, then caught one more to make a limit. Caught and released more.... Did get a few underwater camera shots; even got some action shots of the fall! Glad the camera is waterproof; had lost it in the pond for about 10" before recovering it while it was still filming. Picked up 2 in an hour at Tom Bass I. Missed a half dozen bites. One caught on a chartreuse trout worm, the other on a new technique I found online. "Bacon and eggs" is what it's dubbed.



I used petco super worms for it.

Anybody know which lake at Lewis park in GP they stock.I thick there's 4 ponds there. Thanks

Frisco hosted their annual Trick or Trout Derby today. Missed the derby but was able to fish the afternoon before the rain arrived. Was a tough go at first with the cold and wind. But, did manage to limit out.... Action should be good for the next few days weather permitting! Today's Video.

does prosper got stocked? tpwd schedule said stock on feb 10th, but prosper city says will be in march

TPWD updated their link.... "Last week's schedule contained an incorrect date for the stocking at Community Park Pond in Prosper. The pond will be stocked late this month for a special event hosted by the city, and will open for general fishing on March 3. We apologize for the error and any confusion it may have caused."

i was out there for 1 1/2 hours without a bite. the other day i had a couple of streaks of 5 fish in 5 casts. go figure. i dont think flies were working from what i saw. 1 - 2:30 pm at frisco

Made a run across the border into Oklahoma for fun with Rainbow Trout on the Blue River. The Trout Derby was in full swing when we arrived and a number of Bruisers were being caught! For us, we only managed three Trout using Powerbait between two fishermen. Largest went about 14".

Took some video of today's trip, including a 9lbs Bruiser one fishermen had caught that morning! It was in the ice chest already; regardless, it was a big one! Gotta love the Trout Derby when they stock the River with some Bruisers! Today's Video.

Fished Waterloo Park Pond today. The pond received its last Trout Stocking for the Season last weekend, decided to check on the Trout action before the weather warms.... No Bruisers like we saw on the Blue River yesterday but it was still a fun time!

Later on, ran to Frisco and braved the windy conditions to try some catch and release fishing. Things started slow but the action picked up as it got dark, caught and released four and lost several more while bringing them in.
