You were probably fishing to shallow Try finding a area that drops to 15-20 ft deep with cover down there You can probably bet that you would find um down there

Its not about how deep you can fish but by how you wiggle your worm

worms, power bait, marshmellows its really a guessing game I personally have had luck using bits of chicken liver or sausage because of the oils they produce but with that you may just hit a catfish or 2 also lol

Just what "flybug" stated. You will find em in deeper water usually between 12 and 20 feet deep. thumb I would use live worms (night-crawlers). hooked Try to locate some sunken brush piles or structure. Remember the Sunfish bite slows down some during the winter. Patients is a plus. fish

Once Spring arrives dock fishing will pick up. Docks will usually hold Sunnies from Spring till Mid Fall. Bass tend to hang around em all year long. I don't fish for Sunfish however what I have read and learned here is during the cold winter months fish slow and deep by brush piles. The drop shot method seems to work the best with live worms. fish

Patterns on the lakes are mostly winter patterns this time of year. Slow, deep with structure, and patients are usually the rule of thumb. The docks will pick-up in the Spring and should hold fish up until November depending if any major cold fronts start arriving during the fall. If that happens the Sunnies could move to deeper water in October. hmmm

I've been finding them out at the CNC pretty regularly, but they're on the smallish side. They're biting on red worms for me. Hard to find a good spot for them as a bank fisher - it may be time to invest in a watercraft... laugh

Everyone has to believe in something - I believe I'll go fishing!
