ive also been wondering the same thing. Being in san marcos there arent too many opportunities for crappie. ive been googling the canyon lake area for creeks but only getting web pages for neighborhoods rather than actual creeks. Google maps hasnt been much help either, I might try up by the boat ramp upriver for crappie if I get time today. Any info anyone might share would be great, doesnt have to be your honeyhole, just a name of a creek or 2 that may be holding.

It's been forever since I've fished Canyon, but I remember a place called Crane Mills where there was a small Crappie fishing pier. I imagine if you were to fish the coves and structure in this part of the lake you could get some Crappie.

There is crappie up in the river. Now how many, I don't know. The boat launch up in Rebecca creek would be your best bet. We have targeted them before without much luck. But we usually seem to pick up 1 or 2 when trolling up there for white bass, so there are some there. Only problem is you don't have much room to move since the banks are all private and pretty steep.

tried rebecca creek near the ramp last thursday. the water was low and the boat ramp was closed off. i wasnt sure if it was legal to fish off it due to it being closed so i tried to the left of it. i tried fishing next to all the timber i could reach with no luck for whitebass or crappie. i had a couple cat rods out too that were not touched. I did find some shad though off the ramp with the castnet. I spotted a school of gizzards but i wasnt going to risk a net in water i didnt know what snags lie below.

Has anybody tried Cranes Mill park? There used to be a little Crappie barge there.
