I purchased the Minnkota Terrova I-Pilot 80lb. from Cabelas about two months ago. Went out to Lake Durant today and everything was great for about two hours. Then all of a sudden the trolling motor quit. Everything works other than the motor. The remote shows the icons and it shows the "prop" as moving...but the only problem is the prop dont move. The head turns left and right. The foot control turns the head left and right. But when I push the gas (prop) on the remote or the foot pedal there is no response. Called Minnkota and I took the head off and checked the wiring. Everything is kosher. Took the bottom display off and checked the control panel and it looks intact as well. Tried to call Minnkota back but they are closed. Any help would be appreciated. Tommorow is supposed to be beautiful and I really want to get this fixed ASAP....lol

Mother board is what went bad on mine it was about 7hr old. There's really not much to those units but its best to take it in to a dealer that can service it. Good luck

Yeah I live in the sticks and the closest dealer is 1:35hrs. away. Anyhow, I trouble shot the motor with minnkota over the phone. We first removed the head and checked the wiring. I unplugged the power and negative wires (in the head) that run down the shaft to the lower unit. Hooked them directly to the lower unit with a battery and jumper cables and the prop was supposed to get full power bypassing the control board. No power. So that told me it was the lower unit. Then I took apart the lower unit. As soon as I took the prop off I noticed about 5 yards of fishing line wrapped around the shaft. I was smiling thinking I had found the problem! Unwrapped the fishing line and powered up..still nothing. I then removed the 2 long bolts and as soon as I started backing them out greasy water came leaking through the cracks. Seperated the lower unit and about 2 cups of this came rushing through. Somehow water had been leaking in the lower unit the whole time. O-Rings looked good and connections were tight. Connections looked corroded. Sprayed some mean green degreaser and wiped connections dry. Blew it out with air and let it dry. Still no power! Just like you mentioned above... I will be going to All-Star Marine in Lewisville to have them repair the unit. Guess Ill be bank fishing for awhile! Thanks for your time.

The fishing line probably ruined the seal on the shaft.
