i know that right now is a good time to throw a red rattle trap. would that also mean that a red crank bait would also be a good idea?

ray hubbard has been more of a char trues/ blue crankin lake. would red be a good color to throw right now on hubbard ?

I throw my confidence colors with crank baits 99.9% of the time. Regardless of the the lake or season.

I always feel I am going to catch fish on those colors and usually do.

With all the tournaments coming up it is going to be hush hush out there. Just like Doug said fish with what you have confidence in. The red rattletraps come into play when fishing alot of grass for the most part...

Agree with Trickster...anytime your in an area that can/will/should have crawfish around, red would certainly be a primary color choice

Doesnt matter. Throw what you like. The fish wont be running your crank down based on color. Most will be reaction bites, unless your fishing the hydrilla on the North end.

You know the funny thing is people say they are going to be tight lipped because of tournments but, the funny thing is I have fished the same lure as the guy in the back of the boat and he has beat my pants off me and thier has been times when I have out fished the person in the back of the boat. So, I truly do not understand why people are so tight lipped. First you must know if the area that you are fishing holds fish. second thing is you must look at the conditions water, weather and time of year and then you need to look at structure. Now, I'm going to look at lure selection. I have caught fish on crawdad color but, not the bright red colors the more natural colors, With very little grass on hubbard looking at the warm weather that is in town this week it should turn them on around the rocks. just about anything will work.
