Fished the BLT on Hubbard creek this weekend and never even got a bite and even on my worst days out there I have always caught at least a few fish. Also it only took 7 and change to win on a lake that normally takes between 20 to 30lbs to win. There was also only 6 fish total weighed in for the tourney so basically I am curious if anyone has any ideas on what is going on with this lake!! Do you think it has to do with the weather and lake being down 20' or something else and do you think it will continue to fish that bad or will it pick back up to the usual good fishery that it has been.

Lake is really low and the baitfish and gamefish are bunched up. The bass do not have to work to eat.Its an open buffett all day.

It's doomed will never fish the same again, please cross off your list. I am glad I slept in on this one. Some good sticks up there sruggled and a blind squirrel evidently found a nut.

This exactly. Usually there are a few good winter kills of shad and the bass bite better. This year it didn't happen. Plus due to the low water most of the fish are staying suspended over the deep channels and are scatterd out. It will get better as the water warms.

The blind squirrel isn't blind at all just a good stick out there.

9094 knows the lake better than anyone. I agree with him as usual in that fishing is only going to get better once the water starts warming back up and starts scattering the shad and perch. Give her a month or so and she'll be back to producing 30lb bags.Pray for rain in the mean time!

Blind squirrel here. Lake is fishing harder than normal for the winter. It will pick up as the water temp comes up. I am not worried at all about the lake producing the quality fish thatvshe always has. 9094 does know hc better than anyone and you can believe anything he says, as long as it is not before a tournament. Lol.

And the blind squirrel comment doesn't bother me, I let my rod do all the talking. Thanks 9094 for the comment, a comment like that from someone like you I know makes me feel good and I am sure Chris feels the same.

20# to 30# sacks were not the norm when the lake was low before. You go back to the old KEAN radio tournys they had here back in the 80's and early 90's and it only took a 5lb to 7lb fish most years to win.The lake started to kick out the big stringers when the lake was full and we had some good spawns and the fry had places to hide. Before that it didn't take a 6lb average to win a 5 fish tourny. Not saying it won't be back but,we need rain to fill the lake back up and some good spawns.Pray for rain!

Just leave it alone. He blanks in half the tournys he fishes. He was hugged to much or not enough, name your cliche!I'm not sure what I did to deserve the attention but he shouldn't worry about us. Hugh we(09skeeter21i) and I suck and just try not to embarrass ourselves. oh and nice call on not showing up this weekend when conditions weren't ideal.

And your right, I don't make a practice of weighing in bags that won't matter anyway.

How can a bag not matter? Every fish counts towards points for AOY. So I take it your not going to fish the next hc or pk tournament. Well if you change your mind and decide to fish let me know, I will help you out. Either way I can also give you some info for ivie as well. Look forward to fishing against you. I never knew that being good at something, could make people not like you.

Cborden just remember that in winning or defeat, be honorable. That is a true sign of a champion. God leads us and situations like this is "trials and tribulations" just wish everyone well and for their safety.
