From I20 exit mikus rd this is just befor you hit Hudson Oaks. go north about 2 miles until you see the lake. You will be at the park, turn left and follow lake around about 3/4 mile and you will see the marina.

If you want to catch fish, go at night; if you want to shoot the bull with 20 other people, then go in the morning and evening. Went this morning from 5am to 7 and gave away 10 keepers. Not worth fishing once the sun is up, but that's just me...

Weatherford was slow this morning, but some big fish were being caught. About half were keepers, but some of the keepers were big.
It was cold in the crappie house.

All I can say is that when there is enough people on the bardge to cause it to sink down far enough for water to come over the walk ways, I am out of there. 50 years of little to no maintance, and water logged foam is starting to show on the old crappie house.

50 years of little to no maintance, and water logged foam is starting to show on the old crappie house. Actually the crappie house receives a lot of maintenance. The problem is the patrons make no effort to respect the resource. When I worked there we painted, and someone marked up the walls. I replaced windows one day and found the same ones broken again the next. We replaced floor boards often. People even urinated and defecated inside the barge. The new owners spent a lot of money on the barge, painting and replacing rotted wood. The water logged foam is real. The problem is there is no practical way to replace the foam. You cannot just jack up the barge and put in new stuff. We looked into air bags to raise the barge so that new foam could be floated into place. The frame would probably buckle and break up. It would be cheaper to just build a new barge. And to do that you are talking big money.
