A friend of a friend.....

Is Mexico releasing water out of Guerro (?sp)?

I heard the Rio Grande was on a 10' rise from the confluence of the Concho. It was also stated that they were going to hold this water at Amistad and let it come up another 20'.

Does anyone know anymore about this?

I fished the TTT there this past weekend, and the lake has come up about 20ft sence last year. The lake doesn't look the same as last year either.

Bgjig,
Amistad is at its' highest level since 1995, but I don't see any indication that an appreciable amount of water is coming down the Rio Grande.
I track the lake level and river flows with the info on these web sites. The 1st is the current flow data (updated daily), and the second has a three or four week history. As you can see, there was much more water flowing down the Rio Grande a couple of weeks ago, then there is now.

But, the total inflow from the Rio Grande, Pecos and Devils is still slightly greater than the ouflow below the dam, so the lake is still rising slowly.

Here's a link to a chart of Amistad lake levels since it was created.

Twenty more feet would certainly be a blessing, but if it comes up that much, we would need to start hauling some of that water to Ivie!!

Jim Criswell's wife and I were talking and she said they (Mexico) were putting water back in. Thursday, she said that the river had a 10' rise coming down. But, I don't see it either. Sure is nice to see that much water back in the old grand lady.
