Lol...now why are you after yellow bass? Don't think I've heard of anyone trying to catch them, although I have heard they taste better than their bigger bros and sisters. We go to Caddo every year and specifically target them (plus crappie, of course). Our last fish fry I threw in a bunch of yellows and the wife and girls preferred the yellows to the crappie, they are tasty.

Shad I go after them because they are rather tasty! Lol they are second after crappie to me. & thanks for the tips guys!

How big do they have to be to keep ? no size limits, no bag limits but trying to filet anything under 8" is a pain.

welcome. I/we got hooked on yellow bass at Caddo Lake, I have a spot I go to every late fall/early winter where it's common to catch 50-100 in just a couple hours - all day long if you want and they bite on anything you throw at them. Fun for the kids!

If youre fishing from the bank, its tough right now for yellows. The annoying yellows Ive been cathing on Hubbard on my last two trips were out at 33 ft deep, HUGGING the bottom. I dont they are in the shallows now. Please use many hooks and catch em all for us. LOL
