Plan on doing some fishing this weekend and can't make up mind where to go. In your experience, which lake has produced better in January?

All I can tell you is Caddo Lake gives up some big fish in January. Here in Shreveport there is a boat show tournament every year. It's a big fish tournament with the option to fish many area lakes and over the years Caddo Lake has took the money many times.

Thanks caddobass. Is there a certain area, depth, or lure you would recommend?

Historically, I'd be on the Pines. But, I don't know what the water level is right now so maybe not anymore.

Surely LOP caught some of that rain that just came thru... Caddo too for that matter.

Rk, I just noticed that you said you were fishing this weekend. The tournament I was talking about is this saturday the 19th. I'm not to sure you want to be on Caddo this weekend. Caddo & LOP are both on the list of lakes you can fish. Depth: ????? Caddo has no depth, the lake average is less than 5 feet Lures: jig & pig, spinnerbaits, rat-l-traps and soft plastic Certain areas: cypress trees & stumps, but this time of year you want to find lillie pad stems and areas the bass will be starting to use to stage or move into spawn.

Thanks caddobass. Looks like it'll be LOP this weekend and save Caddo for another day.
