The way they've been biting on Ray Hubbard's marinas lately, I'm about ready to have a garage sale.

X2 I might add, to just get on the water (or at the bank) and be confident some crappie CAN be caught, order a few packages of Slab Bandits from Crazy Angler, in the colors mentioned above (plus Texas Toast, Pearl Truse & Sour Grape)and a couple packages of Pro Ball jighead's. Then go to Pro Angler and get you an 8' Pro Angler Crappie Rod (cork handle)and a spool of Sufix Seige Neon Tangerine line in 6# or 8#. Put the line on a reel of your choice, attach the reel to the rod, tie on a jighead & slip on a Slab Bandit and Git-R-Done! Oh, BTW, to the TFF

Welcome! Go and buy whatever tackle appeals to you most. Most will produce well for you as long as you put your bait/lure in front of the fish. I could pare down my tackle box to the following:
1/16 & 1/8 oz jigheads (color & hook style of your choice) Jig bodies in pink/white, orange/chartreuse, blue/white, black/hot pink
truturn crappie hooks slip bobbers & bobber stops 1/8oz & 1/4oz drop shot weights Size seven split shots (heavier or lighter personal preference)
Berkley Crappie Nibbles
Of course limiting the tackle to the bare minimum isn't nearly as fun as getting the one with sparkly eyes or the latest shape and newest color. There are "new" alloys and surgically sharpened hooks all of which are bent just right so the fish will stay hooked longer, lighted bobbers, balanced lures that will stay level no matter how you tie them and even pheromones guaranteed to attract fish. You can have almost as much fun filling your tackle box as you can filling your limit. Hope you remember the one thing we all strive for when fishing, have a good time!

I got hooked on ProAngler rods last year and now have them in multiple sizes. They are more sensitive, lighter and better priced than any of the other ones on the market. I am a long time Crappie fisherman are far better than the "other name brands" I have ever used. Also Pro Angler sells replacement sections on all the 2 piece rods, so if you meet with a rod accident, you don't have to buy a complete new pole.
