I've heard late February, early March, and late March. When do y'all start catching them again?

Catching now in staging areas just watch the water temp when it starts getting above 62 you should be in business. If you are fishing ponds from shore pick up a temp guage in the flyfishing section at academy or sportingoods store. That should help you nail it down you will see stronger concentrations of beds around the full moon hope this helps.

From right now going forward, watch the weather. If you can get a couple warm days they will ignite. Water warms fast in ponds and it doesn't take long. I love to slip down to the pond in late January / February and slay em. It is really about the only time I ever mess with pond fish.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Fishing can still be good in the winter as long as you have stable weather conditions with the best bite happening when you get a couple of warm days strung together. As the weather starts to warm up the fishing will get better. Watch the weather closely and measure the water temperature. "Spring bite" is two patterns pre-spawn and spawn. Two different patterns but both can be great fishing.

slow roll a white spinnerbait from now until they bed... some of my biggest fish in my life have come in the cold months from ponds.
