 Is it me or is Gander Mountain organized about as well as 3 yr old's playhouse?

Everyone I've ever been in has stuff scattered everywhere. I went in the one in College Station last week, and they had Rat L Traps in 3 different places. It's the same way with a lot of their lures, plastics, hooks, etc.

BPS is the same to me for some reason..
To me Id rather have everything orgainized by manufacturer, not bait type. BPS drives me crazy.

yes,I noticed that too.figured maybe it eas a scientifical approach to make people buy more stuff.I don"t care for it myself.Makes it tougher to find what I want.

It's like Brookshires, Krogers, etc.. Putting the milk at the back of the store so you have to look at, an pass by a ton of other stuff to get what you want..
Marketing genius at work, I hate it too.

They call it cross merchandising. If they have a lot of stock it gets out on the floor. It's also impluse.

Yup. Over-thought, convoluted marketing bs. I worked there for a while and got yelled at for putting soft plastics in logical order. "If it ain't on the plan-o-gram, it ain't goin' up." As they would say... I only go to Gander as a last resort anymore.

They just re"organized" the one down here and Im sure they lost half of what they used to have.

I think the Cabelas in Buda is just as bad. Same brands or types scattered everywhere. I guess the brains think that will make you buy more? When I went there recently, I only went out with a $3.00 purchase (SB trailer).

I have never shopped in one of the retail Gander stores so I can't comment on that but I will say that BPS can drive a man to drink sometimes. It isn't all the time, only when there is something specific you are looking for. It took me and an associate 45 minutes to find the Booyah Pad Crasher's last January. If they stocked everything by manufacturer it would be MUCH worse. I still find it easier to go down the line of 800 lipless cranks to find the KVD.
