It is just for the "marketing" name and 80% of the boat break-ins you hear about are from Fork maybe just the high volume of fisherman. There is Lake Fork Trophy Lures, Lake Fork Taxidermy, Lake Fork Rod & Reel, and now the Lake Fork Methhead Trap 3000!

Please feel free to use the system for Crackheads and Greenheads, their ballots are all similar and the act of doing onto others. Here is a Greenhead caught in act Southlake. Terrorists! wink

I only steal what I'm actually going to use. Kinda like only keeping the bass you're going to eat....

Unfortunately Rob didn't have any Steez rods and reels, and there were too many guys imbibing on adult beverages over by Ken A's room to make a move on his gear over the weekend! grin

Awesome idea!
There's also an alarm out there that works too. Boat Bandit, or Boat Burglar, something like that. It's like a amped up baby crib monitor. You put it in your boat, and put the reciever in your hotel room, you'll hear people walking by your boat, and will definitely hear if someone gets in it.
I'll leave the names unknown, but the guys I stayed with at Ft. Gibson this last fall in the Open had this, and the first night there someone got in his boat. All he** proceeded to break loose, boat owner jumped up, looked outside to see the guy in his boat. Chased him down with a push pole, got him hemmed up in the woods and called the cops. Cops were late getting there and the bad guy got away.
I wasn't there till the next night, but hopefully one of the two guys will see this post and come tell the full story, I laughed till I cried thinking of this one guy in his skivvies chasing the bad guy with a push pole.

I haven't spent much time in the area but what is the deal with all of the Methheads and thieves in the Fork area? Is there something going on in the community out there that is adding to the problem? It seems like unfortunately there is at least one post a week about a crackhead stealing a fisherman's gear from a lodge or camp.

I don't know, high volume of boats fishing there, but I have also heard the LEO in past has been a little light. I imagine just a few families causing most of the problems. 0.01% causing 99.99% of the problems. start knocking them off and it will be safe as Grapevine with Justin patrolling. smile

And that is the 64 Million Dollar question

Sadly with our court system you will spend about $25,000 to hire Murder Defense Lawyer who specialize in Murder cases.

Sometimes the NRA will step in and cover your cost

Long and lenghty process

Which it should not be

Inside your house and you kill a thief and you are Golden, outside the house then the game changes dramatically.

It's called "Lake Trash". Every lake has them. Fortunately at Fork the popular marinas i.e. LFM, Oakridge....all have cameras and preventative measure in place to prevent theft. It honestly doesn't happen much at all around the marinas. It's the public ramps and such. If you leave your rods on your deck at LFM...there's a really good chance your drags could be lossend however.
