The forum has convinced me that I need a larger screen. One of the bloggers mentioned that the Lowrance had a better resolution than the Hummers and I am trying to decide which of the current brands is best. I need your experience and opinions.

Ford Chevy Dodge Too many opinions on the best, you need to go to basspro, or cabelas and look at the sonars, make your own opinion to works/looks best to you. Everyone owns the best( no matter the brand) and has their own opinion.

Hey BCB! Weather nice down there? LOL Checkout the new Lowrance HDS 9 units!!! Saw them at the Show this weekend, one word....AWESOME! You can do anything you want with it...Downscan, sidescan, sonar, and GPS chatplotter with incredible clarity... wish it would fit on the Yak...

Im partial to HB and run a 1198. It's more user friendly than Lowrance and can tell you 90% of whst you need to see right outta the box. But like somebody else said, its all about if you know what you're looking at and know what different things look like on the screen. I think Lowrance may have slightly better downscan but I think you can just as easily read the same stuff on HB 2d. Just my opinion. Whatever you get, spend time on the water playing with it and learning what you're looking at. And if you get a HB, call me and I'll give you my settings

Check out the new New HDS Gen2 Touch Screen. Easy to use, but cost a little $$$.

It's all on your preference. It's your bar b q. What ever you picked it will work wonder if you know or interpret what you are looking at. It took me a while to understand what I was looking on my HB 1198. I just love technology!

Hummingbirds are now able to communicate with the new minn kota trolling motors to share tracks and way points. Very awesome if they ever ship my I-pilot link unit I will let you know how it works. Lots of videos on YouTube if interested.
