The new B.A.S.S. affiliated youth club for ages 11-18 will hold their first tournament this Saturday on Squaw Creek.

Contact me (817-988-2077) or message me this week before the tournament if you are interested in participating.

This is all about the youth and not about the adults.

They are not fishing for money and there is no tournament entry fee.

Annual Club dues are $15 which include both national ($10) and state ($5).

More information can be found on the Lone Star Jr Bassmasters website, including links to follow them on Facebook / Twitter.

I would like to make a donation on behalf of Media Bass. How can I best help?

I am a high school student, and a part of the student angler fishing tournaments. I'm interested in this, but am I to late to sign up? I would really appreciate it if you could send me some more info.

Kyle - no you are not too late! I just need to know in advance that you are coming, and know whether you will be coming with your own boat and boat captain, or whether you'd need access to someone's boat. If you need a boat I'll need to know before tomorrow night because thats when the sponsor club is dividing up the boats. Check out the info on the website. The docs pages has a new angler info form that I'll need Saturday in addition to $15 dues. Call me at 817-988-2077 if you have more questions. I look forward to meeting you an thanks for your interest!

Nitro - Awesome! See you Saturday!

Lunker777 - Awesome! See you Saturday!

JoePoolakeBeast - No, if you are legal to go solo then you don't need a boat captain for these tournaments, but we would rather see you with another experienced adult in the boat. (At the state level tournaments, a boat captain will be assigned to your boat.) Should you choose to go solo, I would advise you have all of the necessary paperwork in the boat because the game wardens that patrol Squaw Creek are very thorough. A person at least 13 years of age and born on or after September 1, 1993, may operate without supervision only if he or she has passed a boater education course that is accepted by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

All persons required to have passed a state-approved boater education course must carry with them on the vessel:

- Photographic identification, such as a drivers license or student I.D. and
- A boater education certification card issued by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department upon successful completion of a boater education course or proof of completion of the requirements to obtain a vessel operator's license issued by the U.S. Coast Guard.
