anyone have pics of a shovelnose or paddlefish they caught? I was curious as to where they are and how you caught them, even if by mistake.
Trying to catch anything that swims.
Commons, Buffs, whatever....

You catch them by using a wieghted treble hook and snagging them. There filter feeders so they rarely get caught by hook and line

Just not in Texas. Snagging is illegal here, but its legal in oklahoma, but does have some restrictions, but im not sure what all restrictions there are.

Dam fisherman in Catfish Section caught and cpr'd several big ones last spring up in Tulsa area fishing BIg Spillways up there........he posted several pics.....

I dont like how there caught. It's messed up. I wouldn't even call it fishing

Mr fabulous, that is awesome. Sdavis, thanks for the link. I think they are an awesome fish. sometimes people catch the wierdest things, eels, snakes, pelicans. It's amazing to watch peoples reactions when they pull up something they did not expect.
