I prefer grey, but will use green. Forget red....

I dont bass fish much just Hybirds and Stripers but I have noticed the darker colors seem to catch more fish than white or yellow. When schooling it dont matter. I just this week respooled with Sufix 832 in dk green color, love that stuff.

Ive always used green. I've heard of guys taking a brown or black sharpie marker and changing the color of the last 4 or 5 feet of line...but i've never noticed a difference doing that.

90% of the time I use the green colors, whether it's light green, medium green, dark green, etc, that all depends on the type of cover I'm fishing and the water clarity. The only time I use a different color braid is if I think the fish are catching on to it, or their finicky, or if there are just other random variables. But, I usually go for the green colors.
