Met my customers yesterday morning at Overlook for a fishing trip of a lifetime. We left the ramp a little after 8:00 am with high expactations. The fishng started off slower than normal but luckily my customers had the patience of a tortoise. I kept moving the boat around to different locations but it seemed like every stop would only produce 1-3 fish. We have a saying around here and its "maybe I zigged when I should have zagged" and thats what I felt like yesterday morning. What a dissapointment. I was not about to give up though so I keep the boat moving and we hit lots of spots, more than I have ever hit in one trip at LOP. Then FINALLY, I found them. We were like kids in a candy store catching all those crappie. Better late than never. We found a flat on the side of a channel in 25ft of water that had fish all over it. After about an hour of fishing that spot we had 67 crappie in the cooler. We were finally satisfied. We voted and decided it was time to go since we both had a long drive home. It was time to head in and clean fish. After the trip I was talking to my customer and he said "that was a trip of a lifetime! thanks" I thought that was awesome. I sometimes forget that my expectations are almost always higher than my clients. What started out as a tough day for me ended in the trip of a lifetime for my customer. If I can accomplish that every trip Ive done well. Thanks guys for the opportunity. Looking back on the trip I enjoyed every minute of it. The frustration of not finding fish then the reward of our efforts made for a sweet victory. Here is 67 from Pines yesterday Most caught on Texas Toast!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Chuck, I am the old man in the Tracker that talked to you about posting some pics of the trip Monday morning. It looks like you did finally find them. We only picked up 27 but they were nice. Good job.
