I will probably be fishing Welsh this week with a buddy of mine and I would like some info as far as boat ramps, lake temps and any thing else I should know as I've never fished this lake before. This is a power plant lake correct? What are the fish doing there? Any help will be well appreciated. Thanks in advance.

One ramp on the lake, water level is OK. lots of Grass everywhere and fish are relating to it, caught lots of fish on flukes and some on rattletraps the past 2 weeks.

The ramp is quite steep so keep that in mind. We caught fish last weekend on several baits. I had a blast flipping Ring Frys at stumps in several of the coves. We caught em on cranks and jigs too. Water temp was 75-78. Welsh is a blast.

Be cautious running the lake. There are some widow makers out in the middle of "open" water.

I fished it Saturday. Lots of grass on the upper end. The fish like it. Water temp was in the low 70's most of the day. Caught fish on just about everything. Yellow magic,buzzbaits,senkos,t-rig,wacky rig, traps, and shallow cranks. If you go south be very carefull since you dont know the lake. Good luck and post some results.

Fished Saturday some guys said they caught fish on crank baits, beating them off the trees, others said shaken head with creature baits at the edge of grass, mine came on rattle jigs, but in black and blue

My dad always said, Son, even if it's all wrong, it will still be alright

Fish during the week if you can, and throw just about anything you are confident in! It gets pounded on the weekends!

We caught our better fish on timber in deeper water 10-15 ft. on c-rigged wat/chart brush hogs and lizards. I kept catching fish right at the boat. Too bad I wasn't smart enough to figure this out until the afternoon and my club tournament was basically over. Back off the bank a little. The banks have been beaten to death.
