well I am excited on the changes, I am for a few reasons so here they are.
1. You will still see some of the very best fishermen in the state who can compete on any level still fish and it is really a honor to comp[ete with the best.
2. It may change your gameplan up, I mean on most lakes it was get that limit in the boat and then cull up, sure you will still want that limit but you may have to go after better quailty of fish instead of swimmers. I mean teams that have a 23 pound bag with 5 I bet will be around 18 or 19 with 3. 3 six pounders and two dinks.
3. Hopefully it does grow the regions some with a 3 bass limit by having more guys with a chance to compete and yes with some luck maybe even cash a check, speaking of luck, is there really that much more luck involved catching 5 than catching 3?
4 I think it will make for exciting weighins as weights will be closer which will make culling your fish out there on the water so important, I mean at times you may see 1st through 10th seperated by just a pound or two. It will also make it a lot more intresting for your total points leaders as it could keep more into the race for AOY honors and stuff like that. Kind of like adding in the extra wil card teams in Baseball,a lot more folks where into it and stayed with it longer. More that are in it the more that will fish it and that is good business.
5. Lets say you have 120 guys fishing, lets say 70 caught a limit, that is 350 fish put in a bag and marched up on a stage and weighd in. lets say you have the same 120 and say 90 catches a limit, that is 270, that would be 70 fish that will be released without the boat ride and the plastic bag show. Hopefully that would make some sort of differenc
What has made Bass Champs one of the leaders in what they do here in Texes is thay work hard to make a circut where everyday guys can fish a event with a opportunity to win a large payday. To run a very professional company that has a great deal of class. They are not afraid to do things that they think will improve there company to make it better for all, I am sure if it does not work that will change it again, I think some bash this change because they may feel strongly about another organazation they fish in, we are blessed here to have several quailty trails to fish in on any given weekend against some of the best guys and gals fishing today and a real opportunity to win good checks in all the events. Some others just like to bash success and Bass Champs appears to be very succesful

The only difference the 3 fish limit will make is you'd better calibrate your scales - cause there going to be alot of money won and lost by hundredth's of an ounce...
Fishing in not a matter of life and death Its much more serious than that.

As long as they allow the cheater to fish, many will go elsewhere....amazing! I'm going to watch him the entire tournament with a camera...I dare him to cheat again!
