My wife and I are planning a getaway without the kids since I finally got a new to me boat and have heard how nice Ouachita is. My question is, can anyone give me a good recommendation for a place to stay? We're planning on the beginning of March and may look at Hot Springs or somewhere closer to the lake. Thanks in advance!

www.mountainharborresort.comBeautiful lake, you'll love it! I also do some river smallmouth fishing in Oden on the Ouachita River. (About 30 mins away) http://www.riverviewcabins-canoes.com/Monster stripers in Ouachita too, if you want your rod ripped out of your hands! Plenty of guides there will get you bit!

Definately Mountain Harbor, I do not remember his name but there is a cook at the restraunt there that can help you with what the bass are doing.

Trader bills in Hot springs is a great tackle shop as well. Might be able to get some tips.

Mountain Harbor is very nice place to stay. We rented a condo and it was great.

If you just want to stay in the area then DeGray State Park offers alot. Lake Hamilton offers some very good opportunities as well. If it is Ouachita you want to fish then Mountain Harbor is the best choice and Trader Bills is a must stop.

mountain harbor is great as is trader bills.
fishing should be great in march. it really depends on the water level on how to fish the lake. if its up theres buck brush everywhere. if its down there should be grass to fish.
