there is a state park called lake houston.then the directions at texas park wild life for the bang lake are not not correct.the lake is not even near Crokett,tx.i drove for 4.5 hours ,i still did not find it.the texas map is hard to read because of my sight.some one help,and tell how to get there from 59 and where to fish.any kind of fish,i don't care.

The lake near Crocket is "Houston County Lake", not Lake Houston (which is between Huffman and Humble, TX, northeast of Houston).
Try again, but be careful Houston County is full of stumps and even more so with lower lake levels!

If your trying to get to lake houston from 59, go down 59 till you get to fm 1960 and then go EAST on 1960. you will drive for a little while but once you get to lake houston you will know it. There is a long bridge with tons of water on each side that's it.

Lake Houston State Park IS NOT on lake Houston!!!!
It is on either Caney or Peach Creek

Now called Lake Houston Park... no longer a state park
