any idea how I can attach chicken wire to stone?

This is all so my wife's little foo foo dog will not get out. The wire is secure to the steel poles every 8 feet.

Tapcon screws with a clip to hold the wire. That is going to get expensive since the Tapcon screws are'nt cheap. They are also blue in color so that might be an issue.

Other alternative is drilling a hole with a mortar bit and inserting a plug then a screw with a clip. That might be the cheaper route.

Either way make sure and drill into the mortar and not the rock itself.

How about just get some extra fence slats and run horizontally along the top of the rocks?

One single strand of wire and a few insulators. It will only take once, maybe twice and Miffy will avoid the wire at all costs.

I'm with Coff. Would look better also. Doesn't have to be fence pickets but 8' 1X4's nailed or screwed to bottom of fence.

Put the plug in.

Run 2x3x8' right down on the rocks and attach them to the fence post using a u-bolt, of the right width and length, like this one:

Homedepot u-bold

This would be a lot easier than drilling the mortor or rock.

If you plan on taking the wire down then screwing a board horizontal to the fence pickets is by far the easiest solution to your problem.

I like the fence slat suggestion or just go buy some bricks and stack them along there.
