I have a 93 Javelin that has ran perfect since i purchased it 3 years ago. I am ashamed to say that I have not done any maintenance to her outside of changing the lower unit oil out 2 times a year and giving her Marine Stabil. I did notice this fall that as the fishing trip became more few and far between, it would take longer and longer for her to start. I want to do a little maintenance on her this spring. What should I have done? I have little knowledge of what goes on under her hood. Where should i take it? I live in denton/corinth. barring any majors problems how much can i expect to spend on tune-up/service? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Try Bear Marine in Pilot Point on 455 just a ways west of the RR tracks and 377 intersection, near the Ford dealership. I haven't used them personally, but have heard nothing but good reports. When I move to Pilot Point this spring I'll be using them because of those reports, as well as they'll be only a couple of miles from the house. I have talked with them, and if I remember correctly, they are closed on Tues. As for estimates on service, you'll have to call them or Google their website and contact them.

Agree. Used bear marine quite a bit. They do a great job. Just give Brad a call at 940-736-3736. Brad is great guy and has always treated me right. Did warrenty work on my Merc, have had no issues.

Spark plugs for sure. Especially if they haven't been changed in three years. Other possibilities..fuel lines, in-line filters, impeller, fuel primer bulb...

And when you are up in the area, you can holler at me and take me to dinner....look for a white Dodge Charger with all the lights flashing...I can even show you around the lake a little.

They do great work.
