Rhodes and Clear Lake are my 2 favorite places to fish in the Grasslands. I went a couple days ago and they look really bad not only water level wise but trashy also. I was thinking about spending a day cleaning these places up, just picking upi trash and stuff. Would anyone be interested in helping with that a little bit before or after fishing? Also do you think that the LBJ Grasslands would want to get involved with cleaning them up? I know it sucks to pick up other people's trash but I don't see it getting done any other way. Let me know what you guys/gals think of this. Thanks

I can put in a few hours this coming weekend, depending on the day. Friday is also a good day for me.

1st post i've seen like this.
rounding up a crew for a lil clean up.
ADMIRABLE! i personally try to leave an area a lil better
than i found it. if we all did this, they would
all be nice places to do our thing. have not been to the grasslands but have heard positive things about it.
do you think the trash is coming in with the run off or do you feel that folks might be leaving theirs behind?

is the trash increasing or do you feel its a isolated incident.

Personally I think it's a little of both. I know for sure the locals come in to do their cat fishing to catch dinner and leave a lot behind. I've asked people before if they're going to leave trash behind and they'll go back and get it. I don't know why it's so hard to put your snicker wrapper in your pocket. I would defiantly say its increasing overall, just not during the winter

I've noticed alot of trash at clear lately. I feel guilty leaving stuff I'm not sure why others don't. This now takes priority over other fishing ventures this weekend. Can definitely make Saturday afternoon or Sunday if that's when yall go. Will be doing some fishing to! Haha

The last couple times I was out there, people had used the back of Clear Lake to dump their household garbage. Like a half dozen bags each time...torn open and scattered everywhere by animals, of course.

I think the dumping problem has gotten worse from what I've seen.

@Bassplastic: Are you talking about four legged animals or the two legged variety?

I am headed a different direction for the weekend fun, otherwise I would be full in....

When I do my pickups up there, I always make sure to wet a line or blast a duck depending on the season. Make it fun is all I am saying....
