Caught three Bufs several weeks ago (after the first trout stocking) on a Pheasant Tail tied on a size 10 jig head (1/128). Jig head was painted white. I think 1/80 jig head might be better. Pics and details I never know if I should post Carp and Bufs on Fly here or the rough fish section. Until recently was more of a euro rough fisher than fly fisher, but have been both for a long time.

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me. When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.

Agreed. Nice fish. Congrats on first buffs on flies. They are fun on the long rods.

I went out yesterday, should have called first, they were dumping a ton of water! again fished all the way down to the RR bridge and not a single fish, I even brought my 8wt rigged with carp flys to try my hand at catching some of those buffs but the water was moving way too fast and the buffs were not tailing in the shallows......

I was there most of the day. I saw 1 white bass choking down a shad. Zero other fish. I did not see anyone with anything. Saw one doe jump in the river in front of me. She promptly jumped back out and ran off. Kinda surprising, since it is 10 minutes from the house. But anyway, there were zero fish.

I had a similarly slow day. Found a pod of buffs but foul hooked one and spooked the rest. Otherwise nothing. Weather was great though and it was good to get out on the water.
