Anybody had any luck on crappie out there? Is the creek Even high enough to get fish? I was thinking about heading that way tomorrow.

Do you mean the area by Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center?
There are 3 kinds of people in the world. Those who can count and those who can't.

I believe he is referring to the Green Belt that flows from Ray Roberts to Lewisville. I like to hike down river closer towards the lake. However, I have to agree the hogs are thick back in there.

Last year the hog hunters were doing good they would put in at 380 go down toward the lake and get out and shoot a hog or two. I for one not seen one yet but thats ok I dont think I like them anymore then the snakes you can find in the creek.

The other issue with the hogs is that they tear up the bank access. I like to hike down the East side of the river down to the first big bend. Great pocket for whites, hybrids and crappie.
Last year I had more problems with the ticks vs hogs or snakes.

When you said hogs I thought you were referring to the size of crappie but you are referring to the actual 4 legged animal...

Its flowing but there isn't enough water at the mouth for the fish to access it.

Its flowing but there isn't enough water at the mouth for the fish to access it. This x2. Paddled to the mouth today. The lake is about 1.5 to 2 feet below the creek. Before the creek reaches the lake it sheets out wide and shallow like a garden hose running over a driveway. Lewisville needs to rise 3-4 feet to get a good creek run, I'd bet. There a few shad balls stuck in the creek though. Tagged some crappie(mostly small, but some keepers), a 13-14inch hybrid and one tiny sandie. Pics to follow shortly. Hybrid Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-Sn1ztwQTgShad Mystery schooling fish who won't bite anything in my tackle box. (bastards......) Sandie

Cool pics! I hate those big schools of fish that wont hit anything!
I can feel them bumping into my line at times, but they just wont have anything.
Mystery bastards.
