I was thinking of fishing the bridges at lake palestine tomorrow. However I've never been there. Does anyone know of a boat ramp and or suggestions of which bridge to fish. A buddy of mine made a purchace from crazy angler and they were talking about which lake was a better crappie lake. Cedar Creek or Palestine and The owner of Crazy Anglar said "crappie fishing is really good on Cedar Creek, but you've gotta fish Palestine" Thanks in advance Russell

There is a ramp right beside the 155 bridge. I have never fished the bridges but know lots of people that do and they do quite well there this time of year. You will probably have to get there pretty early to get a good spot though, it's a popular spot for Crappie fisherman. If I didn't have something to do tomorrow I would go try it myself. Good luck and I'm sure someone else can give you more information than I did.

The bite on the bridge has not really turned on yet. This front may turn it on. Lake Palestine Resort is one of the best places to put in. It is beside the first bridge coming from Frankston. Put in there then run around to the big bridge, thats the bridge ya want to be on this time of year. Like Bowslayer said there is a ramp real close to the big bridge but I have never used it. Probably the only ramp on the lake I have never used.

I haven't been able to fish the big bridge since the cold set in, what with my opportunities and the STINKING WIND. I did go today with the intentions to hit the bridge because the forecast called for 5-10 East wind and COLD. Almost perfect for the big bridge. Well, I knew someone messed up when I crossed Flat Creek on my way to Ledbetter, and the wind was from the SE and there were WHITECAPS EVERYWHERE and big ol' roller's coming down the throat of Flat Creek. Anyway, I put in at the L.P.Motel (across the bridge from L.P.Resort and $1 cheaper to launch) and sure nuff, the water was too ruff to even fish the Highsaw bridge but I was able to hold enough to fish the Ledbetter side. Fished for about 3 hours and caught 15 and kept 8. Threw back 4 fish that were legal but just barely. In other words, there ARE fish to be caught even under some of the creek bridges.

Well yesterday's trip (1/1/2013) to palestine was intresting to say the least. Frist it was raining. and alittle nippy. Second ibrought a small bass buster with a trolling moter. When i arrived at the big bridge on Hwy 155 the north end ramp located at the church was closed. And the ramp at the park at Kilo's was closed on the south end. The lady in store wouldn't let me launch. And the dirt road leading to the house next to the bridge has a owner who doesn't like fisherman dragging their boat down to the water to launch. So i took pepop's advice and went to the marina on the north end of the first bridge to fish the small inlet. I believe it's the ledbetter side. By then I was alittle hungry and went into the marina office to see about an egg and cheese bisquit. The grill is closed until Friday by the way. But something happened for the first time in a long time. The gentleman behind the counter actually talked me out of fishing that bridge. He talked about a sumergerd bridge somewhere along the rip rap that might hold fish. I didn't have the proper electronics and the wind picked up a little stronger and the temp started to fall further so made a beeline to Malikoff and fished the bridge at CC. Very slow 10 in the box and worked for everyone of them.

Careful launching at Lake Palestine Resort. I learned the hard way as I banged my trailer up pretty bad when it dropped off the end of the ramp. Had to do some emergency welding but got it fixed up. I knew a guy locally with a welding machine. There are two ramps there and I dropped off the southern most one. This happened on 22 Dec.
