My Wife was not feeling well so we slept in and didn't get to the North Shore ramp until about 9:30. The 1st thing we noticed was the empty parking lot. It was probably about 38 degrees and breezy but the conditions were actually very nice. Ran over to the discharge to see if the plant was cooking. The water was max 72.6 degrees and moving very little. Later on, I saw no smoke out of the stacks. We saw maybe five boats on the water all day.

My Wife caught the first fish at the discharge on a lipless. It should have been a 5-pounder but was skinny as rail. We moved to several different spots and couldn't find much of anything. Caught a fish here and there but no numbers. I did manage a nice #4.7 at the dam on a parrot DT10.

All in all we caught a whopping 8 fish. The good thing was that other that that 1st fish, all were fat and healthy. All fish were caught in 8-14 feet of water on cranks. Didn't get a sniff in shallow water.

With the hazy Winter skies blocking the sun, we couldn't see where grass was or wasn't. We spent most of the day cleaning
eel grass off of our lures.

The water averaged about 58 degrees on the lake. It probabaly got into the upper 40s. I hope the lack of biting fish will not be a pattern on this lake as we love to fish it in the Winter.

I fished it a week ago we caught four fish two good 4# fish two small ones. 1 at the dam on jig the rest on jigs up in the stumps. We could not get bit at the discharge and it was not running. The game warden was out bothering people about all kinds of stuff, no tickets for me though. The game warden's were two women and the had a kid with them in there boat the kid had no life jacket on some example they are.

We had a pretty good day sat out there. I think we may have spoke to you on the water. Me and my partner ha d 8 or 9 solid keepers a piece. He had one over 5 and three over 4. Didnt get a bite until 10:30 then started flipping trees and started smoking them. We figured we had around 21 or 22lb for best 5

Yep, we spoke. I am glad you had a good day. We have fished this lake in December many times and caught 20-30 solid 3-5# fish.

Me and a buddy fished Bastrop the day after christmas when it was freezing cold. We had a blast besides the cold. Caught a lot of fish on jigs and dt6's but we really caught em good in the discharge on a parrot dt10. Maybe that's why you had a bad day cause we boated over 25 or so just on the dt10 in the discharge. All solid fish too. We had a blast.

Ya know, it's funny; I caught several fish on a parrot DT10, too. Hmmmm.....
