This one has been working for me lately. It must just look like a shad I guess. Also, I'd say chartreuse and just about any other color would be good.

I too have found that the silver colors has been working. When you tie your jig think of a minnow what colors are they? If I was to do anything to Pepop jig woud be to put some very little white in the tail. Don't for get this color works well to. Well it did last week LOL

The feather is Crazy Angler's NH30-Gray and the chenille is CA's 4213-Silver Black. I've just started tying so I don't have much in the way of variety but I'm building my inventory.

Hey Denton Pond is that hair from a feather? The tail is squirrel Shad Gray Crazy Angler. I like to use squirrel tale for its stiffness and you can add feathers to it to. There are a lot of photos of good jigs in this section look at that jig swaps and others thats how I found a lot of the color combos that I tie now.

During the winter I typically tie on a jig that is smaller in profile and I will opt for a marabou tail at times too. I typically stick with the confidence colors. The smaller hook is a #6 or #8 depending on the model number, Matzuo sickle or standard Eagle Claw or Mustad. Note: I use the smaller jigs especially fishing off of docks, boat slips and fishing barges when the traffic and angling pressure is higher. Otherwise, I'd use a standard sized jig without hesitation. Sorry for the terrible picture [img:center] [/img] Jeff
