Ok, here we go young men. Let's get this year started off right. A group of us are going to gang up on Lake Grapevine at Twin Coves tomorrow morning Jan 1st at 9am.
Tomorrow high is going to be 43 degrees, with NNW wind of 13 with a possible gust or two of at 20.
The cliffs at Twin Coves should provide enough protection from the wind.
Please think about the weather and dress accordingly. With the morning temps being in the twenties I don't see a reason to get a early start so I think 9am should be early enough.

Bring a credit card because the UN-maned gate doesn't like cash. It's $5 to get in and play so lets do this!!!!

This should be fun! 9 is a good time and for anybody that doesn't want to pay the $5 just go to Murrell park. Drive to the marina and put in there.

You know I didn't even thing about that. That would be a short paddle just around the corner.

How long did you guys hang out there the other day? I might make it out, never fished that part of the lake. 9 is late but more my style.

We left around 2pm. I really think if we staid later and let it warm up the afternoon might have been better.

Should we put in at Murrell park or can we go to Murrell park and then drive to the marina? I have been looking at google maps and I'm not exactly sure where to go.

There are paved roads that go all the way to the marina from Murrell park. But I don't know what the launch area looks like.

FYI, The last time I tried to launch at the Marina a guy tried to write me a ticket and told me that wasn't allowed anymore. He said they're watching for people too. If you try that be careful.

I am going to try and make next years as I won�t be able to get my Yak until late Jan or Feb.

In looking at the lakes web site it looks like all the ramp in the parks have a $5 fee and it also states that Silver Lake Marina and Scott�s Landing Marina have private ramps but the info for Twin Coves Marina does not mention anything about ramps one way or the other.

the ramp for twin coves is in the Twin Coves Park, at the end of Twin Coves Park Rd. It's $5 to enter the park. The only free ramp is at Murrell Park if I'm not mistaken.
