Casting and Blasting in 2012 -

Finished my 2012 fishing season today on Squaw Creek with a buddy of mine, we had 11 fish with best 5 going over 25 lbs.

That said 2012 was a great year for me –I got to fish Amistad (7 days), Falcon (22 days) along with the local lakes in the DFW metromess. Fished several tournament trails with mixed results but always with good people.

Weighed a 22.48lb bag on Ray Roberts, was with a good friend, Tom Smithey (Okie Poke) when he caught his 11.13 PB and my son Nick when he caught his 9.11 PB on Falcon.

I fished in 2 different Wounded Warrior events, shot sporting clays in a Wounded Warrior event and fished 3 times with disadvantaged kids from local communities.

Caught some monster yellow fin, red snapper, grouper, black tips sharks in the blue waters off of Port Fourchon, Louisiana and some red fish down in Rockport and a great striper trip on Texoma.

You couple that in with opening weekend of limits on doves, sand hill cranes and geese in Haskell, ducks down at Goose island, the feedlot in Bowie, a Helihunt for hogs near Bonham, a AR showdown in Corsicana and one week of the best dove hunting in Argentina.

Speaking of shooting - team Trane won 6 of 7 sporting clay tournaments, had a great time with combat pistol and carbine rifle at many venues around the area. Missed out on my marksman patch in project Appleseed by 8 points.

I want to say thanks LA, Joe, Dave, Chris, Doug, Jose, Tom, Nick and the many others that laughed, spit, cussed and popped a top along the way. 2012 was truly a great year of fishing and hunting…..

where was your hometown? I played baseball there in the 70's. Before they had aluminum bats!

He is but I went to school along with Jack in Irving - Bosworth went to Sam Houston and MacArthur at the same time I did.

No Boz was a jock - I was the kid most parents told thier kids to stay away from.
