I have the 390 grain Peacock Sage Bass II I bought for fishing big Northern Pike and bass fishing. It is a very fast action rod that you can cast all the way to the backing pretty easily. I have been thinking about getting the Large Mouth size for bass fishing at LAH. PM me if you want to meet up here in LBK and try it out.

Heavy ammo. I hear about people using the largemouth on tarpon - that heavy. The arm fatigue is amazing on the Bass I's. Depending on your size fish, the Bluegill or Smallmouth should be plenty of rod. If you want a tournament rod (I'll preach for the hundredth time), try the Ross FlyStik at 189.00. http://www.rossreels.com/fly-rods/flystik-fly-rod-series.html

We have the Sage, Bluegill, Smallmouth, and Largemouth rods. The largest our peacock and largemouth bass get in Hawaii is about 9 pounds... average is 2 to 3. The Bluegill and Smallmouth rods are perfect. I've used the Largemouth rod in Mexico... If I was going to South America for the big peacock bass I think the new Sage would be perfect.
