Pure Bluegill.
Maybe a coppernose bluegill.

I disagree fellars. Looks like a pure "Northern" Bluegill to me. They usually have a lot less color than that one this time of year. Great specimen to be sure!

I have stocked coppernose bluegill into several ponds I manage. I've handled thousands of them, and caught hundreds. Northern-strain bluegill don't have the lighter-colored patch (sometimes it can be a light-green color, sometimes tan - on this fish it's actually copper) on the forehead like this one does, nor do northern-strain have the lighter (on this fish copper-colored) fringing on the tail and dorsal fin like this fish. Also note that this fish has thirteen rays on the anal fin, whereas northern-strain only have twelve.
