Not rude at all fishin Can't say they are easy right now for me at this spot I always go west from the bridge. Maybe I should go towards the lake I try to put in my time at more then one spot. Now I can say at other creeks in the boat has been very easy but the wind in the last week kept me off the boat.

Caught these this morning The water was pretty muddy especially towards Old Alton bridge. The fish were holding tight to the brush. I was fishing from the bank so I had to bounce the jig through the brush which usually meant I got bit or I lost the jig. When/if I got bit I had to let the fish swim out of the brush. I caught the first 3 this way but lost over a dozen jigs. I then decided to try a bobber thinking I might be able to avoid losing so many jigs. Set the jig about 7 feet below the bobber, cast out past the brush then worked the jig and bobber back close to the brush. I caught 3 more this way - 2 keepers and 1 throw back. I was using bobbers without a weight. The only way I knew I had a fish was the bobber turned on its side. When it turned on its side I set the hook - still had to let them swim out of the brush. If I had been using weighted bobbers I would not have known that I had a bite. The fish just grabbed the jig and moved up slightly and sat there. This is important to remember when you are fishing with a bobber. Weighted bobbers have their advantages but you need to remember that often times the fish will come up and grab the jig and move up slightly and just sit there. If you are using a bobber with a weight you will never know it unless the fish starts moving off. I saw Anthony and his fishing buddy. Not another soul at least not where I was. Very cold but not much wind. The fishing should get better as the water clears which may not happen if we get more rain on Monday.

It was good seeing you out there Robert! Need clearer water right now but doesn't look like we are going to have that for a while. We got skunked. Mainly was just trying out the new rig.

The new cadillac was nice, we topped out at 4.1 mph and made it from Old Alton to 2499 in record time. There was about a 1/4" of ice for the first 1/2 mile after dropping in at Old Alton, used the trolling motor prop to break it up along with the paddle.

I've been in there many times last year. just didn't know with the lack of water if it was going to hold the boat in the channel. I suppose I will yak it on sunday and get the exacts.

The creek has enough water to fish in your boat. The challenge will be finding your way in there thru the very shallow mouth of the creek.

Thanks papa peck. had my fair share of entrances to the creek.:) I think I'm going to slow down and yak it with the 'old technology DF'.

Not sure why anyone would want to enter the "shallow mouth" of the creek and also wonder if the crappie did the same. Is it just me or has anyone walked out with a limit of crappie on this place from the bridge down.... With the water as low as it is? Sorry to be this way but I think that this creek is a wast of time now I can see it if we had the rain to keep this up but for the last two years this creek as others just have not had the water. This is not in anyway a you cant find fish but lets be real the lack of water is a problem.
