I ran across this at Cabelas today and thought it may be good for loading fish and bait on my ride. Has anyone used this product?

Is it hard on the inside?

Shaun, it is hard on the inside with a cutting board lid.
Junkie, I am probably going forward with it as well. I figure it is rounded inside, should keep the Shad alive and kicking and should fit some nice size fish... I did find it cheaper at Academy

just my .02
Shad are hard to keep alive even in the winter with a 10gal
live well and filtering system you have to almost constantly
dip out shad scales and clean the filter, and thats with having
an aireator with overflow.
Just get you a rectangler reasonably priced easy to open cooler
with a tray to keep your shad cold and put catch below.

thoughts
anyone else other or better ideals
before spending $50.00?

Look at these two web sites right here, they go over the filtration, oxygenation and physical make up of a bait tank to keep shad alive,

http://www.graylinebaittanks.com/

http://www.keepalive.net/

You could keep fresh dead bait fresh in that by using it as a cooler, if you are trying to keep them alive for flat heads use small perch they are hardier especially on the hook. If you want to keep shad alive for hybrid/striper you will need a bigger tank that is properly set up IMO.

It is a good setup and you might want to check academy before you buy. I got one there for considerably less cash.

I modified on for a shad tank and it works pretty well.

With the cutting board you can fillet bait for catfishing on top and keep catch inside as ice chest. it did not hold ice as well as my small igloos, but plenty good for a day outing if you put about 5" of ice before starting the day.

Cutting board is too small to use for serious cleaning IMHO.
