I have fished both the 4600 and 5500 for years and love them.I use the 4600 for crankin and the 5500 on my carlina rig set up.

If you want new stuff, then go to the more recent reels. I have always spent my fishing dollars donating money to other fisherman at weigh in. However, I use 5500's and always have. I use them for all applications. I do have another brand that is high speed that I use for flipping. I could still use the 5500 for that application but I feel the higher speed helps me catch up to some of those boat dock fish that rocket toward you.
For what it's worth I still use the old reliable 15# Big Game line spooled on most of my 5500's. I am sure that other reels and space age line have better uses, but this setup has always been reliable.
Tight Lines, Mark

I have a fishing buddy that still uses the old Abus. he swears by them. What I will say is they last forever, he oils them regularly and they last a lot longer than all the new expensive ones that I buy!!
