What are you going to use the reel for?
The zillion is a beast and will take abuse

You will end up getting the Core base off popular opinion. The advantage to this is the fact that if you ever want to change the reel's intended use, you can check these out: Tuning Spools For Shimano-JapanTackle.com

Have had both Zillions and Cores and no longer own any Zillions. Had 5 of them at one point and was not impressed.

Depends on what your using them for? 50mg7 are nice I own two of them. My favorite is the zillion line though. I have three two jdm and a costal I love them all worms and Jigs the 50 Mg will work. if you have tried a zillion give one a shot buy used just in case you don't like it and compare them .

Ive got two of the original MG50s. Love those reels to death. I also have a major thing for the Chronarch B series.

Above all else hold these two things in the greatest of circumspection; government and self.

since your using it for worms and Jigs I tend to lean towards the Core as it will be the lighter option for an all day affair..
The Zillion IMO is a power fishing machine..
I have a couple Zillion HLCs and use them for deep cranks and A rigs/Swimbaits..
