It's nice to get out, set up your rods, have a few cold ones and forget about work, college, or any BS that's going on.

Plus you never know what's lurking in the depths. When you fish for bass, you're lucky if it's over 5 pounds, and even then you can just haul'em in. Reeling in a large catfish is a lot more sporting in my opinion.

But on a serious note, I like catfishing bc there isn't much guess work...you know where they like to hold, you know what they like to eat. All you gotta do is find them and fish for them...there isn't 150 different baits to weed through or 150 different ways to catch them.

Isn't much guess work. LMAO.

What's funny about that?!
Do you think catfishing is confusing and difficult?

I thank God for each day!

Sounds like you are an ace. You should go clean house on all of the NTTC boys. Since you have this whole thing mastered and all.

I never said anything aboyt going out and hauling every trip, but catfishing isn't rocket science...if you can read a graph you can find fish...wether they bite or not is up to them.

Crago, "Fish where the fish are" and understanding fish structures are the very basics of ALL FISHING... including carping, otherwise, you're not much of a fisherman (just saying). And no, FISHING in general is not rocket science,...

There're thousands of lures in BPS... but I counted and saw about six kinds of artificial lures, worms, shads, minnows, rats, flies and reactionary (frankenstein) lures (catfishermen call this category stinkbaits, lol) I used more kinds of baits for cats then that (just saying) lol

A bass fisherman once said to me "I couldn't understand ECONOMIC FISHING" I asked him to clarify, he said he liked bass fishing where he could C&R 27 LMB in 28 casts (lies) and his arms were "still sore". I told him if LMB could sore his arms, the stripers will take off his arms, and "you should have been here last Sunday when a 15# blue dragged my 9' pole in the water 50 yards away."... If I was an ECONOMIC FISHERMAN, then bass fishermen are INDUSTRY DEVOTEES first (and fisher a distance second.) Just saying...

fishing to me is playing... read my signature... I'm pretty sure I caught more fish in two years than you in your entire life... Just saying... (if I assumed too much, oops my bad, but you seemed to assumed a lot, too.) One thing for sure, I GOT MORE OUT OF FISHING IN GENERAL than you. smile

The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home... Yeah, I'm going to miss bank fishing!

statement of the year if you are even serious, you have no idea who I am much less anything about me.

fish teach you about life, more so becuase you don't use a boat or electronics? seriously...

I answered a simple question, catfishing is easy to me, get over it, I don't know what to tell you...

but here I will clue you in a little...fresh water fishing, is nothing compared to salt water fishing. I grew up on the Gulf and spent as much time fishing as I could. Hope that clarifies some things for you wink

Seriously! lol

A few months back, you asked people how to catfish in this section, and got all excited when you caught your first "big blue" in lake Worth, was it?

Seriously! LOL

Its all for fun, man (or is it mr. N.T. Carp director?), no harm intended, dude! smile

Freshwater or saltwater, fishing is fishing, you need to understand fish habitats, seasonal patterns, regional bait fish, once you figure that out its the same fishing. but I must say, from saltwater fishing to carping is quite great leap backward, a dis- congruency, is that a word? lol (no disrespect to all carp fishermen out there, seriously.)

You just don't impress me with your fishing "skills/knowledge" talk. Great fishermen just don't talk like you. I'll leave it at that. smile

you are right, I did ask people how to catfish because I have never targeted catfish before...with all the generic responses, I set out and did get excited when I caught my first big blue, and another and another...hell I even got excited when I put friends on their first big blue! I put in a lot of time and effort and it paid off, but it wasn't hard to do lol I enjoyed every second of it, and the cats were always in the same general area...wouldn't you go figure that!

Lake Worth catfish is under consumption ban, is it not? Which means the fish is under less fishing pressure, might explains why they don't move as much...

If catfishing is so easy, in the great "catfish capital" lake of Texas, Lake Tawakoni, all the Trophy Catfishing guides should be able to put their clients on 40-50# blue at least once a month, yeah? It's been a while since I saw any Twok guide put their clients (not themselves or their spouses) on big blue catfish... Now, that's a real catfishing clue for all the dudes/dudets out there.

Like I said buddy, you can't make them bite.

again though you still miss the point....I said fishing for them is easy...yes fishing...there is nothing hard about throwing a cast net for cut bait, putting it on a hook and casting out to a favorite spot and waiting for that pull...nothing to it.
