I just moved here from iowa to attend University technical institute. My aunt bought me a boat(she knew i loved fishing)but it has a bad motor and wont be ready for awhile. I wanted to try Ray Hubbard or Tawakoni on the shore and was wondering if the hybrids, stripers or sandies can be caught around this time along the shore. also im lost on which part of the lake is best, some of my friends took me but the spots they went to, didnt look promising. ive been researching a lot on how to catch them on a boat with dead sticking and how to find the fish, but it seems like on shore its a whole different ball game.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Cheers* and have a safe holiday!

It is hard to find the depths you need for this time of year from the shore.

If you have some of those crazy long surf rods you might have a chance.

There is a specific area of the forum for bank fishing and you might want to give it a look to see if you can get some good pointers there.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip fellas, i think bank fishing is out of the picture for this winter lol, unless we get into some crappies.

For sure ill be trying to book a trip so that way i can get to know the lake more, its so hard trying to fish a new lake. Hopefully i can have the boat ready soon, so i can post some pictures with the rest of the group :]
