I don't like my current set up for flippin docks and was curious as to what you all use. Specifically looking for terminal tackle and rod length, brand, etc... ideas.
Thanks!

I use a Dobyns 735C with an Okuma Helios reel. It's a super light setup that you can pitch all day. I spool up 20# flurocarbon and use a 3/16 or 1/8 screw lock tungsten weight.

Falcon bucoo micro 7'2" MH and a shimano curado 50E. Super light and the tip on the bucoo can scoot a bait way under a dock.

No one uses a shorter rod for accuracy and maneuverability in close quarters? Sometimes I feel like a 7' is too long...hmm

I didn't get it for flipping docks but it worked really well the other day at Austin. 6.3, heavy Shimano Cumara with a 7.0 Revo.

I'm short and I prefer 6'6 rods for anything except c rig and maybe crankin...I've tried to use longer to flip etc but its tough
Get it done, no excuses.

Are you talking about "flipping" or "pitching"?
For flipping I would go with a 7' to 7'6" H rod. I use Falcon Caras, but if I had a choice I would go with a Dobyns rod. As for terminal tackle: 3/16 to 7/16 oz tungsten weight with a stout 3/0 - 5/0 hook. As for my preferred plastic, I like Xcite baits Raptor Craw and Raptor Craw Jr.
For pitching I use 6'10" MH and H rod. Both are Falcon Caras, but like I said Dobyns has a rod in this same category. I use the same terminal set-up as above with just a few changes.
I use a peg on everything that has a sliding weight anymore. It may just be a confidence thing, but it works for me.
Hope this helps you out. PM Stan for help with a Dobyns Rod. He's a great source of information.

i like the 705 Dobyns rods. the Savvy is an EXCELLENT rod for flipping docks, with budget in mind. I would pair it with a used Curado (greenie) 100 that's been supertuned and upgraded drags. 20# seaguar InvisX. some 1/4 ounce flipping jigs from Talon Lures and Santone Lures... go to town!

No one uses a shorter rod for accuracy and maneuverability in close quarters? Sometimes I feel like a 7' is too long...hmm I do for pitching but not flipping. Pitching i use a 6'10" h falcon lowrider for my jigs and a 7' mh ducket micro for pitching soft plastics. When i'm flipping it's a 7'6" rod
