I have 100 and 50 bucks in gift cards to spend at academy and BPS respectively. I'm looking to stock up my arsenal. What is your auggestions to buy? I normally throw lizards, flukes, brushhogs, and been working on the frog bite the last few years. I don't normally fish deep, and mainly fish LOP and Caddo at most 5 times a year in the late spring and all summer. I would like to start trying bed fishing this year as well.
Thanks in advance.

You should buy whatever you like and catches your eye. Is this your first time to purchase baits for bass fishing?

Buy more than you need in the baits that you have confidence in so you don't run out and then pick up a couple of bags of new baits. It satisfies the itch to try new stuff but keeps you stocked up on what you really use.

Thanks for the advice. No its not my first time buying baits for bass fishing, just seem to be in that routine of buying stuff I have confidence in and constantly using it, but never tying on the stuff I buy that I don't feel comfortable with. Hoping to break this habit this year by expanding the baits to choose from.

I was gonna quote txninja till your last post. Pick a few techniques you want to learn, buy those baits, and try them. Or, what do you usually throw on those lakes? That will give some of these guys an idea of what else works on them.

Add Senko's and or Rattlesnake's to the list, they are versatile baits.. For your summer fishing get some 7" and 10" Power worms or the Zoom U tail and Mag or Ol Monster worms. For another creature bait choice try some Gambler Ugly Otters or the Gene Larew Biffle bugs.

Quality hooks, shaky heads, snaps, weights and line. Also, try different colors of brush hogs, flukes, senkos and larger lizards.

Get some Mojo rigs, they work great on Caddo.

Buy the expensive lures with your gift cards. Spend your own money on the less expensive stuff.

+1

Yes to the jigs as well...some of each: flippin', finesse, football, and swim jigs...
