Find yourself a gently used Daiwa Sol.

I throw a lot of weightless. The Revo SX was good, the STX is better. Once you get the brakes and everything set, they really perform well. I have one dedicated to light/weightless that I NEVER touch the settings. Works like a charm.

I disagree 100%. I felt that way at first but the right baitcasting combo can do just about anything you need it to do.

Well I 100% disagree with you. That is just my opinion/preference.

A good spinning set up is a great investment. I throw small topwaters, crankbaits, and even tiny swimbaits during the shad spawn on a 6'9 medium falcon cara spinning rod with a 2000 size Stradic c14. I use the same setup for drop shotting and shakey heads but with a smaller reel. You'll appreciate it when you can really sling a little jerkbait or prop bait out there a ways.

At one time I would have said the ABU Record 40, but mine seem to have tightened up over several years use and there are some bearings that are hard to get to to service.

Daiwa Sol is a fantastic light line reel. They are also no longer made but you can still find some around. I purchased one about 3 months ago and it looks brand new. I have 3 of them. I personally like them better than the Shimano 50 MG and that is a fantastic light line reel also.
