My fourteen yr old loves seafood. He wants to try Lobster. Last time I cooked them it twenty plus years ago and we boiled them whole. How do you all suggest I cook some for New Years Eve?

I recommend steaming them over boiling them.

The last time I did some lobster tails I did them on the bake setting.

2 4-ounce lobster tails (butterflied-just use shears to cut the shell down the back, then pull the meat away from the shell and puff it out on top of the shell. Step by step vids on youtube.)

Melted butter with garlic salt to taste and a little paprika.
Baste the tail then in the oven at 425 for 15-18 minutes. Sounds like a long time but do keep an eye on them, different ovens can have different cook time effects.

Re-baste halfway through.
Serve with more butter.

They were awesome. Hope it goes well.

Edit. cook time will very a little more or less depending on the size of the tails.

Chief Wiggum: This is Papa Bear. Put out an APB for a male suspect, driving a... car of some sort, heading in the direction of, uh, you know, that place that sells chili. Suspect is hatless. Repeat, hatless.

Go to central market, buy the lobsters, get them steamed for free. Done!

1 lemon cut up, bay leaf or 2, a little pepper. Put in pot of water and get it boiling...throw that big boy in and get to cracking. I usually go by 10 minutes for the first pound then 3 minutes each pound after that. We usually get 1 - 2 lbers.

Butter to dip.

food cheers
