Now that the water temp on Grapevine has cool and the crazy fall largemouth bite we had this year has also cooled I thought i'd change it up a bit to keep my 6 yr old interested. So we tied on an Alabama Rig and chased the birds around. We were catching them at will, but the highlight of our evening was when my son caught 2 fish on one cast - the magic of the A-Rig! Taking a kid fishing makes the trip all that more special. Catching those is probably etched in his memory.
We are taking an 11 year old this Saturday. He doesn't know it yet but he is going to be a new Jr. Lake Record Holder. He might have caught one fish in his life.
