I need to know can I have a Motorguide 24v 74lb repaired? The head feels locked up, it will turn with some force. Sounds like water got in and rusted it. Is it worth saving, or should I buy a new one?

your best bet will be to look in the classified section here and find a good used one. From what you are explaining, it will cost more to fix then to replace. JMO

It's going to depend on which Motorguide (5speed or variable, digital or analog) you have and the shape of the rest of the motor. repair price probably in the high $100's or low $200's, depending on how bad. I've seen them locked up and the magnets come loose, but a new center section and it's good to go. Can also consider a new lower unit. You would be surprised as to what the lower unit would cost. Call me if I can help.

I have a Motor Guide Great White (salt water but never been there) foot control 82 lb thrust digital 48 inch shaft 3 years old........$400.00. I recently bought a MinnKota I pilot because I liked the spot lock.

Don't know where you're located but you can try Borris Marine Electronics in Ft.Worth at 820 & Jacksboro Hwy. They did me right on a rebuilt TM.
