I think the tail length is good. Some guys like them shorter but it's really up to you. That jig looks good man. I've never used that powder color so not sure why the cement discolored it.

Nice jig, Chartreuse has a tendency to turn if you use any solvent based glues. I switched to water based several months back and have not had the issue again.
Keep at it.....
